There’s something deliciously rebellious about packing a weekend bag when everyone else is hibernating.
While most people are wrapped in blankets watching re-runs of Love Island in their heated living rooms, you’re off somewhere better — stars above, fairy lights flickering, and a hot chocolate in hand.
And the best part is, you can bring a micro projector, piles of blankets and tether your phone for an under canvas cinema. Imagine watching Celebrity Traitors in the middle of a field under the stars - would you be brave enough?
That’s our crazy little thing called glamping — swapping the ordinary for something magical.
Winter is a mindset
Adventure doesn’t stop with the weather. The only mud you can deal with might be a face mask, and that works for us. At Hill Farm, winter doesn’t mean mud, shivering and camping grime. No. We are all about high-quality, high finish, good time glamping.
Winter means our thermal-lined bell tents and insulated pods come with heaters that keep things toasty enough to ditch the fluffy socks (if you dare).
Admittedly, BBQs are outside for the brave ones — and yes, we’ve seen couples having the time of their lives, cooking burgers in sub zero temperatures, before jumping in a steamy hot tub.
Sipping a piping hot mug of hot chocolate (or stronger — we don’t judge) beneath the fairy lights and suddenly you’re living your own romantic countryside love story.

When it’s cold out, everything slows down. Why else does winter feel so long, I have a point, right?
There’s less to distract you, so you talk more. You laugh louder. You curl up closer.There’s no rush to go anywhere — just the sound of the wind in the trees and the twinkle of fairy lights peaking through hot tub steam.
Forget grand gestures — sometimes romance is as simple as watching your breath in the air, then ducking back under the covers to warm up together.
