So many of our guests arrive with their dogs, pitch their tents or settle into their glamping pod — and then set off early for a bright and early hike in the Peak District.

Have you ever stumbled upon something amazing online, and then moments later thought, wait... am I the last one to find this out?

I got that feeling this month.

I discovered Komoot.

For those of you who know it, you’ll be nodding your heads and rolling your eyes saying, “yes already, Tara!”. Well, I know about walks on AllTrails… but now I’m hooked on Komoot.

In just a couple of clicks, access to some of the most UH-mazing trails in the UK, are on your phone, complete with clear directions ready to use. Now this isn’t an ad for Komoot, so we’ll rein in the gushing there (haha!).

BUT I am using Komoot in this blog to list out some of the best Peak District Walks, all easily accessible from Hill Farm Glamping & Campsite.

5 Peak District Walks Under 2.5 hours, 90 mins from Hill Farm Glamping and Camping!

(Suitable for most, but a moderate level of fitness required)

This easily accessible Peak District walk is 2.5 hours long, with photo-worthy views at Froggatt Edge and over the moors. PLUS, there’s the all important half-way house. YES, in true Hill Farm style, there is a good old pub, The Grouse Inn, half-way round.

Mam Tor is one of the UK’s favourite ridge walks. This is a shorter route, coming in at just over 2 hours. An easy route (just over an hour) over the ridge to the Tor trig point.

This is rated an easy walk, and clocking in at 1 hour, makes it a pleasurable afternoon stroll in the Peak District, starting at Grindleford station cafe. Owler Tor is a natural adventure playground for kids. The rocks are incredible for climbing over and the heather and bracken are full of paths to explore and go wild in! The National Trust as a longer version of the walk here.

This is one of the Peak Districts MOST popular family walks, from the iconic river stepping stones to crystal clear water and ancient caves. This walk takes you up to Bunster Hill, for classic views of the Staffordshire/Derbyshire countryside. You’ll need to head out early from Hill Farm, as the car park at Dovedale can get VERY busy. Good job you can catch a cuppa and breakfast from Sam’s food truck in the morning on your way out!

History lovers and families, this one is for you! In the summer of 1665, the Black Death came to the village of Eyam in a package of materials from London. Soon after the outbreak, residents decided to quarantine themselves – a brave decision that ultimately stopped the disease from spreading beyond the village.

Don’t just visit the cottage and the museum, make sure to walk to the Riley Graves. These six gravestones belong to the Hancock family, who all perished in the plague. From this eerie and historic spot, you get sublime views!

From Tor trig points to ancient woodland, history and iconic stepping stones, being short Peak District walks you could even tie two in before heading back to Hill Farm Glamping and Camping for an evening under the stars!

I mentioned earlier that you can grab breakfast from Sam’s food truck before heading to the Peaks, why not plan dinner with us too! Then after a day’s hiking in the Peak District, you can literally arrive back to your tent at Hill Farm Glamping and Camping site with dinner ready on the table.

Here’s what you’ve been crying out for- NEW changes for 2025  💫

👌 All our lights around the pods and gazebos are currently solar and don’t work 24/7 in winter. We know this has been a let-down for some guests. SO we are going electric with lights — everything will be lit up all the time in the winter.

😆 All pods have mains electric (not solar), we have 4 bell tents left to do.

⛺️ We are adding 2 more standard bell tents to our site this year - you can book them for Download 2025, contact me directly to secure them.

🌮 SAY HELLO to a street food truck this year. All details are here

🤐 OUR LIPS ARE SEALED RIGHT NOW, BUT WE HAVE ONE MORE GLAMPING ADDITION BREWING…
